Ron Daniel's metadata presentation in the form of a Dr. Seuss rhyme, given at the 2009 Taxonomy Boot Camp, is now online. [The session was not recorded. The speaker notes for each slide contain the lines for that slide, with the stressed syllables marked. The last slide also provides a few notes aboutthe origin of the presentation and the meaning ofsome of the lines.]

Taxonomy Strategies, in conjunction with Earley & Associates, has presented the results from the 2009 survey of practices in Search, Metadata, Taxonomy, and Information Development. The results were presented in a Taxonomy Community of Practice teleconference on July 15, 2009. The results are provided in the presentation "Metadata Maturity Survey Findings" in our Archive. Our special thanks to Paul for his tremendous effort in this iteration of the survey. Taxonomy Strategies and Earley & Associates are looking for others who are interested in collaborating on the next revision of our Metadata Maturity Model as we work to develop it as a standard in our industry. If you are interested, please contact Ron Daniel.
Forrester Research has published a report on taxonomies, "How to Build a High-Octane Taxonomy for ECM and Enterprise Search Systems,"
which is available for purchase. The report was written by Leslie Owens, who interviewed our founder, Joseph Busch, during her preparation of the report.
